Scheduled Maintenance

Introduction of NTP for time synchronization Oct 29, 2025 08:00-10:00 UTC

During the upcoming maintenance window, we will be deploying a new time synchronization mechanism based on the Network Time Protocol (NTP). This new system will replace the legacy O3C time synchronization method.

The primary objective of this change is to address issues where devices may reboot with an incorrect time, resulting in inaccurate timestamps in video recordings.

Important:

To ensure the new synchronization mechanism functions properly, updated firewall rules must be configured to allow NTP traffic to time.aws.com. Failure to allow this traffic may fatally impact devices that lack a real-time clock (RTC).

No additional action is required from customers beyond ensuring that NTP traffic is allowed. No service interruption or downtime is expected during this update.

Note:

There was previously a maintenance window scheduled for the above mentioned activity. That maintenance window has been postponed and replaced by this maintenance window.

Postmortem - Read details
Oct 21, 09:27 UTC
Resolved - Cloud recordings have been working since October 21 22:00 UTC .
During 14:00 UTC and 22:00 UTC on October 21 there was intermittent loss of video.
Post mortem will follow.

Oct 21, 09:00 UTC
Monitoring - Cloud recordings are back online. Incident will remain open until tomorrow. Post mortem will follow.
Oct 20, 22:09 UTC
Update - We are continuing to investigate this issue.
Oct 20, 15:40 UTC
Investigating - Due to the ongoing incident at AWS we are still experiencing intermittent errors with cloud recordings.
Oct 20, 15:39 UTC
Oct 20, 2025
Resolved - All available cloud recordings have now been successfully indexed.
Oct 20, 12:21 UTC
Monitoring - AWS have mitigated their underlying root cause. For YourSixOS, this means that all services except cloud recordings have fully recovered. The cloud recording index queue has been backed up and is now being depleted. We expect the queue to have been fully depleted within two hours.

We will update this incident when the index queue has been depleted, and all recordings are available for playback.

Oct 20, 11:08 UTC
Identified - YourSixOS is undergoing a partial outage caused by upstream outages in AWS, see https://health.aws.amazon.com/health/status.

Playback of cloud recordings and searching/timeline of events logs are unavailable.
